🧭 Navratri Puja & Ghatasthapana Guidelines
Set up the Chowki and Ghatasthapana in the North-East (Ishaan Kon) or East/North direction of the home.
- ✅ Kalash Position: Place it to the right of Maa Durga’s idol (devotee’s left), with the coconut facing the devotee.
- ✅ Akhand Jyoti: Place in the South-East (Agneya) corner and use a glass chimney to protect the flame throughout the nine days.
- ✅ Barley Sprouting: Sprinkle a little water on the Jau every morning so it grows healthy and green.

🙏 Dakshina / Tips Policy
Dakshina (traditional priest’s offering) and any gratuity/tips from the customer go directly to the Pandit. PujaAtHome does not take any share of Dakshina – it is separate from the operational pricing above.
- Dakshina is a voluntary, sacred tradition – it is between the devotee and the Pandit.
- If customers feel happy with the Pandit’s conduct and the quality of the puja, they may offer Dakshina directly.
- Suggested Dakshina guidance: $11 – $101 or as per the devotee’s wish.
⭐ Special Note for Shri Durga Navratri Puja
Before the puja, ensure the coconut has water inside and that the Akshat (rice) used is unbroken. Keep the Kalash to the right of Maa Durga’s idol with the coconut facing the devotee, and protect the Akhand Jyoti flame with a glass chimney throughout the nine days.
